Frequently asked questions
Students will attend the campus either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9AM to Noon or they will attend Tuesday and Thursdays from 9AM till 1:30PM. Each day they will spend half of their day working with our faculty members in their core subject areas reviewing their progress, providing one-on-one academic support, and learning allow to apply the concepts covered in the curriculum. The other half of the day will be spent working with their team members learning new hard and soft skills as well as team building exercises that will help the students to become leaders.
Students work in small teams, approximately 5-8 team members. When they come to the campus the highest number of students they will see on campus is 16 students. This allows students the ability to develop social skills while at the same time being provided individualized attention and focused learning environment.
Due to the natural flexibility of hybrid learning a student-athlete will be provided ample time to build in more training time and working with coaches than in a traditional school schedule. Additionally, we work with student-athletes on how to build out task organization and planning schedules allowing them to not only complete assignments and task on time, but also communicate with team members who hold each other accountable.
ALPHA Hybrid Academy uses a collection of sources of curriculum. Our academic courses are vendor based courses that are accredited and state-approved. Our elective courses are mostly home-grown courses designed to meet the needs of students are future workforce leaders. We have developed custom pathways designed to support both student-athletes and student-leaders that will enhance their knowledge and supplement it with learning new skills that applied in real-world situations.
Students must have documentation to show that they have completed the 5th grade. They must also be able to read, speak, and write in English. Students may apply at any time but we encourage students to sign up in the summer for the first semester and by December 31st for the second semester. Students can apply via the website and will receive our terms/conditions, a student-parent handbook, and the course catalog. Before the school year starts we will provide you with a recommended list of courses and the team schedule. Courses may be changed at the parents discretion.

Students will need to provide their own laptop and should bring their devise to campus each day they are assigned. Students will mostly utilize three main platforms:
1) Canvas (LMS) - this will house their academic classes and where they will access courses outside of class.
2) School-in-One (SIS) - this will house all of their information including but not limited to: grades, attendance, and teacher notes
3) Kanban Zone - this is the site they will use you to communicate with their teammates and manage school projects and tasks
ALPHA Hybrid Academy uses current and recently retired certified teachers to teach the courses. Most of the teachers are also former coaches and/or ran student leadership clubs. The Head of School, Mr. Morris, has managed and taught, multiple online, hybrid, and brick-and-mortar schools at both the public and private level. He is also the founder of the PGA Tour Junior Golf Academy and Coast 2 Coast Golf LLC.

We hold monthly to bi-monthly meetings with both student and parent to review progress, mastery and ask questions. Additionally, we hold annual planning meetings to review courses this year and make adjustments to their personal learning plans.
